The PADI Rescue Diver course consists of five main phases:

  • Knowledge development to understand and develop your First aid abilities by introducing you to new techniques and methods to help anyone with urgent care needs, in dive accidents, or other similar situations.

  • New development methods to help anyone with care needs and to improve your techniques for the EFR certification.

  • Knowledge development to understand and develop your abilities by introducing you to new problem management and methods to help a distressed diver.

  • Confined Water dives to perfect your rescue techniques.

  • 3 Open Water dives to achieve mastery in learning the skills required for the Rescue Diver certification.

Thanks to the EFR and PADI Rescue Diver eLearning program, you can get started today.

This very fun and interactive training online, before your vacation, will allow you to learn at your own pace the basic information necessary and required for this course. This will save you from having to spend 5 to 6 hours in the classroom with Alain. You will be better prepared, but also the most important thing, you will be able to spend more time on practical stuff and underwater with him.

 What you will learn with Alain: 

EFR:

  • Life support, CPR, and artificial ventilation - training for people outside the medical field.

  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) (recommended).

  • Prevention and shock management.

  • Spinal cord injury management.

  • Barriers/protections Use to reduce the risk of disease transmissions.

  • Basic first aid and considerations on the first aid kit.

  • Option 1 - Combo Pack. If you want to participate, but you don't have any proof of EFR training, or if your First aid training, with another organization, was made more than the last 24 months, this option is for you.

  • Option 2 - Single Pack. If you want to participate and you have proof of EFR training or any First aid training, with another organization, that was made within the last 24 months, this option is for you.

Day 1

From 8:30 am here in Phuket, your day starts at the closest dive center where you meet your PADI dive instructor, Alain Barrat.

He will begin with an administrative procedure if he has not already done it the day before. He will continue with the Rescue Diver's knowledge development, the 5 chapters that you have personally reviewed in your manual. If you are well prepared, the morning classroom session ends around 11:30 and you can go eat lunch.

After the break, complete with your instructor the EFR theoretical part. 2 chapters that you have personally reviewed in your manual. During this afternoon session, You learn all the EFR skills required for this certification. If you are well prepared, the day ends around 16:00 and you can go home.

Day 2

From 9:00 am here in Phuket, your day starts at the same dive center with your PADI instructor, Alain Barrat.

Once you have prepared the diving equipment and done a pré-dive safety check with your buddy, it's time to get wet. You will start at the deepest part of the pool. During the morning pool session, you participate in a self-rescue assessment and the 5 first required skills.

After the pool session, which generally ends around 11:45 am, you can enjoy eating lunch.​

After the break, once you have prepared the diving equipment and done a pré-dive safety check with your buddy, it's time to get back in the pool. During the afternoon pool session, you participate in the last 5 skills.

After the pool session, which generally ends around 15:30 am, you can enjoy a shower, change yourself, and go home.​

Day 3

If necessary, we will pick you up around 7:30 am with a minibus to go to Chalong Bay south of Phuket, where a boat awaits you at the pier.

Around 08:30, departure for Racha Yai, Racha Noi, or Koh Phi Phi.

After the boat briefing, you prepare your dive equipment, and once finished, remember to hydrate yourself and relax.

At 10:00 and if everything went well: dive briefing, pré-dive safety check with your buddy and you are ready for your 1st dive.

The maximum depth of this dive will be between 6 - 12 meters with a maximum dive time of 50 minutes. You're demonstrating the first 5 skills learned the day before.

Back on board, you have time to eat fruit, to réhydrate yourself, and relax.​

At noon and if everything went well: dive briefing, pré-dive safety check with your buddy and you are ready for your 2nd dive.

The maximum depth of this dive will also be between 6 - 12 meters with a maximum dive time of 50 minutes. You redemonstrate the last 5 skills learned the day before.

Back on board, you have time to enjoy lunch (Thai buffet), to réhydrate yourself, and to relax.

After the lunch break, you will have the opportunity to do a 3rd dive.

The maximum depth of this dive will also be 12 meters with a maximum dive time of 50 minutes. You will participate in an exploration dive.

The return to your hotel is normally around 5 pm.

Day 4

If necessary, we will pick you up around 7:30 am with a minibus to go to Chalong Bay south of Phuket, where a boat awaits you at the pier.

Around 08:30, departure for Racha Yai, Racha Noi, or Koh Phi Phi.

After the boat briefing, you prepare your dive equipment, and once finished, remember to hydrate yourself and relax.

At 10:00 and if everything went well: dive briefing, pré-dive safety check with your buddy and you are ready for your 1st dive.

The maximum depth of this dive will be 30 meters with a maximum dive time of 50 minutes. You will participate in an exploration dive.

Back on board, you have time to eat fruit, to réhydrate yourself, and relax.​

At noon and if everything went well: dive briefing, pré-dive safety check with your buddy and you are ready for your 2nd dive.

The maximum depth of this dive will be 12 meters with a maximum dive time of 50 minutes. You will participate in Rescue Scenario #1 and an exploration dive.

Back on board, you have time to enjoy lunch (Thai buffet), to réhydrate yourself, and to relax.

After the lunch break, or even during the, you will participate in Rescue Scenario #2 and have the opportunity to do a 3rd dive on another dive site.

The maximum depth of this dive will be 12 meters with a maximum dive time of 50 minutes.

The return to your hotel is normally around 5 pm.

As soon as you have completed this course or have the opportunity to come back to see Alain in Thailand, ask him directly or by email what are the available possibilities in Phuket to complete a PADI Specialities Diver or Master Scuba Diver. PADI.
